Our Ingredients
Your most sensitive areas deserve the cleanest formulas. We disclose every single ingredient — no fine print, no hidden fillers, no marketing tricks. Just full transparency.
Our Philosophy
Most people read labels on their food, their skincare, their supplements. But the product that goes on their most intimate areas? Almost nobody checks. We think that needs to change.
Intimate products interact directly with mucous membranes — the most absorbent tissue in your body. What you put there matters more than what you put on your face. That's why every wettr formula is developed with a simple rule: if an ingredient doesn't serve a clear purpose, it doesn't go in.
We work with experienced cosmetic chemists in Germany, follow strict EU cosmetics regulations, and hold ourselves to certifications that actually mean something. Below, you'll find the complete INCI list for every wettr product — along with a plain-language explanation of what each ingredient does and why it's there.
Smooth Operator — Water-Based Lubricant
Our flagship formula. A clean, water-based lube designed for everyday intimate use — solo or with a partner. Compatible with latex condoms and all toy materials.
Full INCI List
| Ingredient (INCI) | What It Is | Why It's There |
|---|---|---|
| Aqua | Water | The base of every water-based lubricant. Purified water serves as the carrier for all other ingredients. |
| PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate | Coconut-derived emollient | A gentle, skin-conditioning agent derived from coconut oil. Creates a smooth, non-greasy glide and helps the formula spread evenly. Well tolerated by sensitive skin. |
| PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil | Castor oil-derived emulsifier | Keeps the formula stable and homogeneous. Ensures all ingredients stay blended and the texture remains consistent from first pump to last. |
| Phenoxyethanol | Preservative | A widely used, well-studied preservative approved by the EU and considered safe at concentrations up to 1%. Prevents bacterial growth and keeps the product safe throughout its shelf life. A clean alternative to parabens. |
| Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer | Texture agent | A modern polymeric thickener that gives the lube its gel-like body. Creates a cushiony feel without stickiness. Biologically inert — it sits on the skin surface and doesn't penetrate. |
| Aminomethyl Propanol | pH adjuster | Used in very small amounts to fine-tune the pH of the formula. Ensures the lube stays within the ideal pH range for intimate use. |
| Glycerin | Humectant | Present in a minimal functional amount as a moisture-binding co-ingredient — not as a primary humectant. At this low concentration, it supports skin feel without the hyperosmolality issues associated with high-glycerin formulas. |
| Carbomer | Gel-forming agent | Works with the crosspolymer to build the lube's body and viscosity. A standard cosmetic ingredient used in everything from eye gels to medical lubricants. Non-irritating and non-toxic. |
| Ethylhexylglycerin | Skin conditioner & preservative booster | A gentle, plant-derived ingredient that conditions the skin while boosting the efficacy of the preservative system. Allows for lower preservative concentrations overall. Also acts as a mild deodorant agent. |
Overtime — Silicone-Based Lubricant
Our ultra long-lasting formula. A premium silicone blend that delivers an incredibly silky glide that won't dry out or get sticky. Ideal for extended sessions and water play. Compatible with latex condoms (not compatible with silicone toys).
Full INCI List
| Ingredient (INCI) | What It Is | Why It's There |
|---|---|---|
| Dimethiconol | Silicone polymer | A high-molecular-weight silicone that provides the rich, luxurious glide. Dimethiconol has a slightly higher viscosity than standard dimethicone, giving Overtime its characteristic thick, cushioned feel. Sits on the skin surface — not absorbed into the body. Hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. |
| Dimethicone | Silicone fluid | The workhorse of silicone-based lubes. Creates an ultra-smooth, water-resistant layer on the skin. Doesn't evaporate, doesn't dry out, doesn't get tacky. Biologically inert — your body doesn't interact with it, which is exactly why it's so well tolerated. Used in medical devices, baby care products, and pharmaceutical preparations worldwide. |
Backstage Pass — Anal Relax Gel
Our water-based anal relax gel with natural plant extracts. Designed to ease tension and reduce friction for smoother, more comfortable entry — without numbing you. Compatible with latex condoms and all toy materials.
Full INCI List
| Ingredient (INCI) | What It Is | Why It's There |
|---|---|---|
| Aqua | Water | Purified water as the base carrier for the formula. |
| PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate | Coconut-derived emollient | Provides a smooth, skin-conditioning glide. Derived from coconut oil, gentle on sensitive tissue. |
| PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil | Castor oil-derived emulsifier | Stabilizes the formula and ensures the botanical extracts stay evenly distributed throughout the gel. |
| Laureth-9 | Surfactant & penetration enhancer | Helps the botanical extracts absorb more effectively into the skin. Improves the delivery of the relaxing plant compounds where they're needed most. |
| Phenoxyethanol | Preservative | Safe, paraben-free preservative that protects the formula from microbial contamination. EU-approved and widely used in sensitive-area cosmetics. |
| Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer | Texture agent | Gives the gel its smooth, spreadable consistency. Inert and non-irritating. |
| Aminomethyl Propanol | pH adjuster | Fine-tunes the pH to keep the formula balanced and compatible with intimate tissue. |
| Avena Sativa Kernel Extract | Oat extract | A time-tested botanical known for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. Calms sensitive skin and helps reduce irritation. Rich in beta-glucans that form a protective film on the skin. |
| Carbomer | Gel-forming agent | Creates the gel's body and ensures it stays in place during use rather than running off. |
| Glycerin | Humectant | Present in a small functional amount to support moisture retention and skin feel. |
| Humulus Lupulus Cone Extract | Hops extract | Extracted from the flowers of the hop plant. Contains natural compounds with calming and mild antispasmodic properties. Supports muscle relaxation and helps ease tension — the natural way. |
| Limonene | Natural terpene | A naturally occurring component of peppermint oil (not added separately). EU regulations require it to be listed individually when present above trace amounts. Contributes to the fresh, clean scent profile. |
| Mentha Piperita Oil | Peppermint oil | Provides the signature gentle cooling sensation. Natural menthol activates cold receptors in the skin, creating a fresh, tingling feeling that helps ease tension and relax muscles — without any numbing effect. You stay fully aware and in control. |
| Ethylhexylglycerin | Skin conditioner & preservative booster | Plant-derived skin conditioning agent. Supports the preservative system and adds a soft skin feel. |
Why no numbing agents? Many anal products contain lidocaine or benzocaine to numb the area. We don't. Here's why: Pain is your body's warning system. Numbing it means you can't feel when something is wrong — which can lead to real injury. Backstage Pass works differently: natural plant extracts help your muscles relax, so you don't need to numb the pain away. You feel everything. Just more comfortably.
What We Don't Use
Knowing what's NOT in your lube matters just as much as knowing what is. Here are the red flags we've deliberately excluded from every wettr formula:
| Ingredient | Why Others Use It | Why We Don't |
|---|---|---|
| Parabens (Methylparaben, Propylparaben) | Cheap, effective preservatives | Can mimic estrogen and are linked to hormonal disruption. Controversial enough that better alternatives exist — so we use them. |
| Nonoxynol-9 | Spermicide, once common in condoms & lubes | Damages mucous membranes and actually increases infection risk. The WHO advises against it in lubricants. |
| Chlorhexidine | Disinfectant used as preservative | Can trigger allergic reactions and irritate sensitive tissue. A hospital disinfectant has no place in a lube. |
| Propylene Glycol (in high amounts) | Cheap humectant and solvent | In high concentrations, it burns and irritates — especially on mucous membranes. Common in budget lubes to cut costs. |
| Artificial Fragrances | Makes the product smell "nice" | Synthetic fragrances are among the most common causes of contact dermatitis. Intimate areas don't need perfume — they need respect. |
| Lidocaine / Benzocaine | Numbing agents in anal products | Mask pain signals, increasing injury risk. We use natural muscle-relaxing botanicals instead. |
| Colorants | Makes the product look "fun" | Zero functional benefit. Potential irritant. Unnecessary. |
pH & Osmolality — Why They Matter
Two technical terms that have a real impact on your comfort and health. Here's what you need to know.
pH Value
Different areas of your body have different pH levels:
- Penile skin: pH 5.0 – 5.5 (slightly acidic)
- Vaginal environment: pH 3.8 – 4.5 (acidic)
- Rectal environment: pH ~7.0 (neutral)
A lube that doesn't match the pH of where you're using it can disrupt natural flora and cause irritation or infection. Our water-based formulas are pH-balanced to be compatible with intimate tissue — sitting in the range that works for the male body while remaining safe for all types of play.
Osmolality
Osmolality measures the concentration of dissolved particles in a liquid. It matters because:
- Hyperosmolar (too concentrated) — draws water out of your tissue, causing dryness and micro-tears. Many drugstore lubes are severely hyperosmolar.
- Iso-osmolar (balanced) — matches your body's own concentration. No water loss, no cell damage. The gold standard.
- Hypo-osmolar (too diluted) — can cause cells to swell.
